Dear Joy – some GPs prescribe a synthetic version of vasopressin – a hormone which inhibits the amount of urine produced by the kidneys overnight – this is usually reserved for children who have failed treatment with a bedwetting alarm, and sometimes the two treatments are then given together. One of the common problems with this form of treatment is that once you stop the medication the bedwetting resumes. As with all treatments, it does not work for everyone. I would recommend discussing this with your daughters pediatrician who will be best placed to support your daughter during this time. Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding, unfortunately I have been unwell and unable to answer questions. Kind regards, Dr Cathrine
